During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information and give you time to get to know your doctor. From general eye exams to the most complicated ophthalmological surgical procedures, our doctors are dedicated to the well-being of all of our patients. What to Expect

Your first visit to our office is designed to get you better acquainted with all we offer as well as introduce you to our doctors and caring staff.

Your first exam at our office will include the following:

  • A complete medical history will be obtained.
  • Your current eyeglasses will be neutralized by our certified optician
  • Our trained ophthalmic technician will take your vision and review your medical history, family history, allergies, and medication list
  • The doctor will refract you to determine your eyeglass prescription. (this may be an extra charge if you do not have vision coverage)
  • Contact lenses will be measured if desired (This is not covered by your insurance and will be an extra charge.) Contact lens instruction will be given.
  • External eye exam
  • Extraocular muscle exam
  • Stereopsis (3 D) if under 18
  • Glaucoma Pressure (if no infection and cooperative)
  • Cataract check
  • Dilated Retinal exam
